Early Life and Education


Manushi Chhillar was born on May 14, 1997, in Haryana, India, to a family of doctors. Her father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and her mother, Dr. Neelam Chhillar, is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) in Delhi. She has a younger brother named Dalmitra Chhillar.


Manushi completed her schooling from St. Thomas' School in New Delhi and later earned a degree in medicine and surgery from Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat, Haryana.


Career


Modeling and Beauty Pageants


Manushi Chhillar began her career as a model while still in college. She participated in various beauty pageants and won titles such as Miss India Haryana and Miss Photogenic at the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant.


In June 2017, she represented India at the Miss World pageant held in Sanya, China, and was crowned Miss World, becoming the sixth Indian woman to win the title. Her victory was widely celebrated in India, and she became an overnight sensation.


After winning the Miss World title, Manushi received various modeling offers and worked with many leading fashion designers and brands. She also became a brand ambassador for several companies.

Philanthropy
