Satish Kaushik started his career in the Indian film industry as an assistant director to the legendary filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. He later moved on to acting, and made his debut in the 1983 film "Masoom". He then went on to act in several films in the 1980s and 1990s, including "Mr. India", "Ram Lakhan", and "Karz".


In the late 1990s, Satish Kaushik started to shift his focus towards directing and producing films. He made his directorial debut in 1999 with the film "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja", which unfortunately did not do well at the box office. However, he continued to work as a director and producer, and went on to direct several successful films such as "Tere Naam", "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai", and "Milenge Milenge".
